Talking about Conservancies
Chatting over the fence
Remember a simpler, safer time when the backyard fence was more a leaning post than a demarcation of property? Over that fence many ideas flowed, tips were exhanged, and friendships were forged.
This site continues that celebration of neighbourliness, of looking out for each other, and sometimes even just looking at each other! Here you may hang-out, pontificate, share, rant, cry, laugh, instruct or simply observe. You are welcome, wherever you call home. Our common ground (the shared fence) is conservation on private land.
Like good neighbours we may ocassionally share some juicy gossip, we may look with barely hidden envy at a New Conservancy's frilly things on the washing line, we may offer sage advice for a broken spirit, reach out and make someone's day with a warm smile.
Our columnist peers over into our backyards. And like the interfering busy-body neighbour has the uncanny ability to touch on the sore spots, the things we try to hide away but really are better exposed, and dealt with with here among friends.
We band together in tough times so that not one is alone and lies beaten on the ground. We connect with each other. We celebrate the strength we draw from good friends and wise words.
Come and lean on the fence, and lets chat.
